Firstly, we had a truly amazing time! Everything went extremely smoothly and we received first class service from the moment we landed in Rarotonga to leaving Atutaki. Thank you.

Rarotonga was great. The service we received at the Royal Takitumu Villas was outstanding. The staff were incredibly helpful and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable, including wonderful breakfast baskets at our door each morning and helping out when Duncan got a puncture in his bicycle tyre! The villas aren’t the height of luxury but are in a great location, have a fantastic pool and wonderful staff.

We found the best place to eat on the Island was the Waterline restaurant. The sunsets were stunning, great cocktails and really decent food. Trader Jacks was great for a more lively night out and Tamarind House had a great seafood platter. I would steer any visitors away from Vaima restaurant, the food and service was terrible!

We hired electric bikes instead of scooters which we highly recommend; they were loads safer, cheaper and more fun. We also did the cross-island walk with ‘Pa’. Whilst he was quite entertaining the group was quite large and we would recommend that confident walkers do the walk themselves.

Atutaki was by far the highlight of our trip. The Pacific Island Resort was perfect (although food and drink was a little overpriced). We spent most of the time on the beach but hired a private boat and a captain (Captain Pan) to take us to a few of the islands – we would recommend doing this over a busy cruise – it allowed us to take our own picnic and have lunch on a deserted island!

We also booked a private trip to Honeymoon Island with lunch for two. This was booked with Kia Orana Tours, we’d definitely recommend them.

And we would definitely recommend dinner at a roadside hut – fish and chips particularly!

Thanks again for pulling the itinerary together for us. We had a wonderful couple of weeks, we were very sad to get on the plane leaving atutaki!

Louise and her husband travelled to the Cook Island and stayed at Rarotonga and Aitutaki.
