Six Senses Ninh Van Bay

I’m sure it won’t have escaped your attention that here at Turquoise we love Six Senses! We love their ethos of back to nature, sustainable luxury combined with personalised authentic experiences, exquisite spa and wellness and just a general laid-back vibe. We love them all, but I think I may have found my new favourite on a recent trip to Vietnam.

How to get to Six Senses Ninh Van Bay

Six Senses Ninh Van Bay is tucked away on a private bay, only accessible by 20-minute speedboat ride from nearby Nha Trang, which is reached by a short flight from Hanoi, Danang or Saigon. You could easily slot this into the middle or end of a top to toe journey through Vietnam, however you could easily consider this incredible resort as a stand-alone beach break in its own right.
It is well worth the journey, and you’ll be rewarded with one of the most beautiful stretches of unspoilt beach I’ve seen in South-East Asia, with calm waters and crystal-clear water gently lapping the shore.

Why we love this luxury resort in Vietnam

The whole resort is spread across a wide bay with beachfront villas discreetly hidden behind the natural foliage along the beach. Hillside villas are tucked into the jungle clad hillside with spectacular views and at each end of the bay you’ll find the unique water and rock villas which are literally built into the boulders that frame this picture postcard scene. Each guest is provided with a personalised bicycle to navigate the paths through the jungle, linking the different areas of the resort – it felt very similar to the paths in the Maldives, however the boulders backing the resort and beach reminded me of the Seychelles.

Family friendly Six Senses Ninh Van Bay

Kids are welcome here and I would say it is one of the most family friendly Six Senses resorts I’ve seen, with an incredible new kid’s club called Vooc Village, complete with an outdoor splash zone, soft ball pool and slide (all sustainable of course – not a plastic ball in sight!). All villas also allow two adults and two children in each and some have two bedrooms.

Dining options at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay

The two main restaurants are located next to the pool and at one end of the bay, and another three dining options are available on different nights to mix up the choices, with Dining by the Rocks offering a romantic setting, Grandma’s Kitchen for authentic Vietnamese fare and a farm to table vegan restaurant.

Activities at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay

If staying for a few days the resort includes a number of complimentary activities – from cooking classes to sundowner drinks, high tea or beach picnics. Guests can hike in the mountains behind the resort for jaw dropping views or try fish or lobster fishing at a local farm. Watersports are plenty including water-skiing, paddle boarding and sailing and they’ll even launder and pack your clothes at the end of your stay. What’s not to like?! Check out their latest offers here.

Of course – we adore all the Six Senses but for a romantic break or active family holiday this resort is one of the best in Asia and perfect as a beach break, OR combined with some of the incredible and contrasting experiences Vietnam offers – an example of this is our Vietnamese Essentials suggested itinerary, which combines Hanoi and Lan Ha Bay with a stop in Hoi An before heading to Six Senses. End with a few days exploring Saigon for an ideal two-week journey.
