The Caribbean is a popular destination across the world for honeymoons because, put simply, it offers incredible resorts and often an excellent value for money. They’re also wonderful destinations year round, with many escaping the rainy season or experiencing only brief bursts of rain in the midst of brilliant sunshine.

1. Turks and Caicos

Turks and Caicos experiences a huge amount of sunshine every year, with sunny weather an average of 350 out of 365 days out of every year. We recommend Parrot Cay, a COMO property, as one of our top romantic resorts on the islands. Parrot Cay is naturally beautiful, with crystal clear waters and wide expanses of coral just beneath the surface, all located on its own island. This makes the resort seem secluded, private, and tranquil, perfect for your escape after a hectic wedding (or even a relaxed wedding!). The shabby chic rooms are just the ticket for this island which is all about emphasizing the natural over the glittery and artificial. And Parrot Cay has won a number of Conde Nast Traveller Awards, so you don’t have to just take our word for it.

2. Antigua

Antigua is one of the world’s most laid back destinations with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of romance. It’s perfect for both weddings abroad and honeymoons, as there are no residency requirements to fulfil for a wedding abroad. Combined with its sister island of Barbuda, these two islands are wonderful choices for island hopping and pure relaxation.

Curtain Bluff is *the* destination where Antigua is concerned; it’s been open for more than 48 years but still treats its guests like a new resort that needs to impress! Many of the rooms and suites are situated directly on the beach; the resort is also great for honeymooners with children as there is a specially designated Kids Play Room to keep them busy.

Alternatively, Sugar Ridge is another of our favourites, situated on a lush hillside covered in sugar cane.

cotton tree3. Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands are authentic, discerning experiences designed to enhance your honeymoon, especially if you’re keen on snorkelling, as the sea life around Cayman is exquisite. Lucky for everyone, dive sites are open to beginners as well as experts, with classes offered for those with no experience just a short swim away from the shore. Even better, there are plenty of wrecks under the sea in the Cayman Islands; not the more cheerful of scenarios but certainly an adventure to explore.

We recommend spending time on both Grand Cayman and Little Cayman – Cotton Tree is one of our favourite chic resorts on Grand Cayman!

the sandpiper4. Barbados

Barbados is the jungle paradise you’ve always dreamed of, complete with the palm trees and the warm scent of nutmeg wafting through the air. With gorgeous weather year round, there is no particularly bad time to head to Barbados, though July is the wettest month. With a wealth of white sand beaches, lush rainforests, and rocky outcrops, you’ll truly feel like you’re honeymooning on paradise.

We recommend The Sandpiper, one of the most exclusive boutique hotels in the West Indies, as a top hotel on Barbados. It’s small, but stylish with a strong commitment to service by  the family who owns the hotel. Many repeat visitors have been captivated by the beauty and tropical allure of this hotel. When you go there, you’ll undoubtedly feel the same.
