The Caribbean is a truly magical destination, with much more variety than I had given it credit for. No matter how long you have there, there is so much to see and do. Indeed, in just a few days we managed to see the sugar plantations in Barbados, travel by private yacht up the Caribbean sea to the idyllic private island of Petit St Vincent and then hop on a plane to the by gone era of Bequia. From there we hot footed it across to the absolutely awe-inspiring Piton mountains of Saint Lucia, with a quick stop for lunch at Boucan by Hotel Chocolat, before finishing our trip with a the most turquoise of turquoise seas I have ever seen… in Antigua.
As you can see we covered some ground. Each of the islands offers something different, but the primary thing I have come away with is that there is something to suit everyone!! Whether you want to get out and explore the mountains, waterfalls and hike the Pitons, or simply relax and enjoy the copious amounts of water sports on offer, there really is an abundance of things to do. However, this is all before we mention the delicious Rum Punch we sampled, the amazingly friendly staff and locals and the best jerk chicken I have ever tasted!
