From 27th October 2019, Oman Air will restart its popular route from Muscat to Malé in the Maldives until 30th April 2020, with easy links from London Heathrow or Manchester airports. If you’re looking to book a holiday to the Maldives, here’s five great reasons why you should travel with Oman Air…

1 You can go any day of the week

There’s double daily flights and daily flights from Manchester to Muscat, the capital of Oman. Couple those with the six-weekly flights from Muscat to Malé in the Maldives and you have the ultimate in holiday flexibility. You can go whenever you fancy!

2 You don’t need to worry how much you pack!

Oman Air offers a really generous baggage allowance of 30kg across two items of luggage in economy, so you don’t really need to worry too much about weighing your bag in fear of being too heavy by a couple of kilos. Travelling in business or first class? You’ll have a whopping 50kg of luggage to play with! An especially great feature for all travellers, but especially anyone planning an Oman family holiday.

3 You can explore the city of Muscat…

Going indirect to the Maldives with Oman Air gives you the option of staying a few nights en route of one of the Middle East’s most charming cities. Explore its crumbling forts, grand mosques and the colourful chaos of its bustling souks, before jetting off to relax in the Maldives.

4 …even if you don’t, Muscat airport is incredible

Even if you decide to catch a connecting flight straight to the Maldives with a short layover, then are few better airports to spend a couple of hours than Muscat International. Only opened in 2018, the airport blurs the boundaries between cutting-edge technology and traditional Omani influences, and an impressive array of shops and restaurants mean you won’t get bored!

5 Every cabin type is amazing

Whether you fly from London or Manchester, you’ll be in a shiny new Boeing 787 Dreamliner. With that comes new and exciting cabin designs right across the board. If you’re flying in economy you’ll have spacious seating to enjoy and a large 10.6-inch touchscreen, so you won’t be watching films on something the size of a postage stamp. If you’re in business, you can access the aisle from any seat, relax on a seat which turns into a fully flat bed and a massive 17-inch entertainment screen. If you’ve splashed out on first class, then your private suite offers luxury flying at its finest.
