We always love hearing about your holidays when you’re back home – it’s a great feeling knowing we’ve crafted an unforgettable adventure for someone. While the feedback is incredibly useful for us, we also realise it can be really handy for you to hear what some of our clients thought about the places they stayed in.

With that in mind, we’d love to share our feedback from the Ryan family. They recently stayed at SALT of Palmar, a hotel which only opened in late 2018 and has a refreshing take on your hotel experience in Mauritius. With an eco-friendly focus, the resort is completely free of single-use plastics and everything, where possible, is locally sourced, from the furniture to the food. With such a unique concept, we catch up with the Ryans to see what they thought…

What was your impression of SALT of Palmar?

It was the most relaxing experience from start to finish. The staff were all exceptional and we formed a lovely relationship with many of them. Our friends came to stay for one night as well and the staff made their stay very special, even making a stunning 50th birthday cake! It was a fantastic family holiday on a beautiful windswept island.

What did you think of the food?

It was fantastic! So fresh and healthy. The breakfast was out of this world and it was all ordered from the menu á la carte-style – the concept is environmental, so this was done to avoid waste. We’ve heard there’s a new vegan chef there now, which will really boost the offering in that department, too.

Did you visit the local area?

It’s a small hotel which we really liked but in the evenings that meant we went out of the resort to try some of the local restaurants as well.

Lovely! We’re so glad you enjoyed your holiday in Mauritius!
