When you’re ready for an escape, there is no better place to do it than on an island. There are so many stunning islands out there that it’s a difficult task to choose between them – there are a lot of luxury holiday options for beach lovers, whether you’re after a funky village, a chance to live among the natives, or a Robinson Crusoe break. Here are a few of our favourite options for a luxury island holiday:

1.      Tahiti & Her Islands. We have sent many happy couples to this archipelago – the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort & Spa always features in our top ten holidays! The islands are really just stunning and enchanting, with a variety of different landscapes and lots to see and do. Tahiti is one of many great choices for island hopping – you can vary what you see and do in this way. You might go for an ordinary bure on one island and then head to an overwater bungalow on another – the mix is totally up to you. Tahiti is excellent for scuba diving, sailing, and just relaxing by the beach – many resorts will cater for those of us who want to escape as well as those who would like to keep busy and active.

2.      The Maldives. Renowned for hideaways, the Maldives also have a huge number of relaxing spas; many resorts include yoga and other relaxing, strengthening classes as standard. If you want to get away from civilisation for a while and just linger on the beach, the Maldives really cater for that. They’re also perfect for romance; there’s a reason many of our top resorts are located here. Secluded, relaxing breaks are the order of the day, and the Maldives can be visited at any point in the year – rain may occur more often in our summer months, but many people enjoy their time away during the entire year.

3.      Thailand. While you can spend your time on the Thai mainland, Thailand also boasts many desirable islands and the incredible resorts to go with them. You’ve undoubtedly heard of Koh Samui in particular, which has a high concentration of fabulous resorts like Six Senses Hideaway. Rasananda, located on unspoiled Koh Phangan, is a perennial favourite here at Turquoise with its rustic, natural authentic Thai feel. Thailand is generally fantastic value for money; you’ll find you can afford more here than elsewhere, which is very welcome when you’re completely ready to spoil yourself.

Island holidays are ideal when you’re ready to get away from your busy life, refresh, and recharge. Look at these incredible islands when you’re ready for your next luxury holiday.
