I first heard of The Turquoise Holiday Company whilst on a summer internship at Conde Nast Traveller. Having realised the magazine world wasn’t quite right for me, I soon turned my attention to all things Turquoise, whose gorgeous branding and family owned and run ethos immediately captured my attention. It is with pure embarrassment, but luckily no regret, that I remember strolling straight into the Turquoise office one morning, requesting a meeting with Marketing Director, now Managing Director, James Bell. After half an hour chewing James’s ear off about my desire to work for a tour operator such as Turquoise, I left with an enormous grin on my face and the offer of a summer work placement. The rest, as they say, is history. Almost seven years later, I still feel incredibly lucky to work in one of the world’s most inspiring, infectious and innovative industries, full to the brim of exceptional people, beautiful places and exciting journeys.
